What is a pop-up store?

Good question! A Boldfacers pop-up store is a one-time-only, gone-in-a-flash retail experience set up for 24-hours. Each month, we feature a different theme and showcase local, excellent, unique vendors and designers -- you know, the Boldfacers of that particular industry. We're always looking for fun themes and talent, so if you have any ideas, please write us at info@Boldfacers.com.

 In alphabetical order:

RACHEL BAKER, Boston Magazine

Rachel Baker is an associate editor at Boston magazine, where she covers all things style. A native Mississippian, Baker believes the bigger the hair, the closer to God. Her favorite color is gold.

ERICA CORSANO, StuffBoston

Ruffled tuxedo shirts, heart pendants and newsboy caps are just a few of the random pieces Erica can mash together beautifully. If she were a chef, she’d be Julia Child. For the greater good, she pursues her fine editorial taste, spearheading fashion shoots and stories as the editor for StuffBoston. Known to pluck out the best and brightest from Club Monaco and Barneys, Erica plans to share her treasures at our store.

LISA DONOVAN, Kiss 108

You may not recognize the face, but chances are, you know her voice. Lisa is the “female” presence on the Matty in the Morning show on Kiss 108. Formerly in public relations for Coach in Manhattan and Kortenhaus Communications in Boston, Lisa picked up a few key pointers about the fashion world. Her sense of style comes in handy in the radio world since she regularly meets actors, musicians, athletes, movie directors and producers. Lisa will be donating her proceeds to Rose's Place.

LEIGHANN FARRELLY, Yelp.com

Sugar and spice? Feh. Girls like Leighann are made of biker boots and skin-tight sequin tanks. As community manager at Yelp.com, Leighann regularly party hops from charity events to restaurant openings and is known to look killer kool at all of them. No trend follower is she, but a connoisseur of the chic, the vintage, the cool. She’s breaking it all out in at her Stylemakers outpost this weekend…

ALYSSA GIACOBBE, Fashion Journalist

A former editor for Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Teen Vogue, and Boston, Alyssa now writes about fashion and other topics for publications that also include In Style, Lucky, Nylon, and the Boston Globe. Her style changes frequently, but in general includes some combination of vintage and vintage-inspired dresses, very high heels, and her great aunt's costume jewelry. We are counting on her to provide us with her best Mayle pieces. (Hint.)

CORINNE GROUSBECK, best-dressed list

Corinne Grousbeck wears many hats: parent, philanthropist, Bouvier trainer, yogini, chef, but she is perhaps best known by her Celtics hat as the wife of co-owner Wyc Grousbeck. Jugging these roles requires a versatile yet stylish wardrobe  She tell us she can't waste time deciding what to wear, she needs to reach into the closet and go. For the stylemakers pop-up store, Corinne hopes to part with some of her more impractical purchases (Boldfacers loves impractical!) and donate any proceeds to her favorite charity--Perkins School for the Blind. And maybe make some more room in her closet.

ALEXANDRA HALL, Fashion Boston

All you really need to know about Alex Hall is that she has a cat named Dog. Really, it says it all. The kid has spunk. First, there’s her professional background: ten year’s experience as a critic, lifestyle writer, senior editor at Boston Magazine, Daily Candy and is now the editor of the Boston Globe’s Fashion Boston. She’s written for national magazines like Town & Country, New York Times and Traveler. Even more, she looks good -- spunky. Always.

LISA HUGHES,  WBZ-TV

Lisa Hughes anchors three of WBZ-TV’s weekday newscasts, and covered every major news breaking story since her arrival in 2000 in Boston from Washington DC. She is on the board of First Literacy (formerly the Boston Adult Literacy Fund) and often partners with Boston Mayor Thomas Menino’s office for Read Boston events. Needless to say, Lisa needs to look professional and polished – and by goodness, with an array of perfect suits, blazers and blouses, she achieves this with aplomb. Show us the way, Lisa.

 AMANDA KNORR, Improper Bostonian

Amanda Knorr, assistant editor at The Improper Bostonian, covers beauty and fashion. She also writes the magazine's "Style Profile." Knorr has contributed to DailyCandy and recently completed the Boston shopping guide for Fodor’s. So, no surprise, she sports some pretty head-turning numbers both on and off the job. We’re betting that she scored some haute pieces from some of her Improper shoots that will look great on our Boldfacers racks.

JANICE O'LEARY, Boston Common Magazine

Janice O’Leary is the editor in chief of Boston Common magazine. She has been on staff at Body & Soul magazine and has written for the Boston Globe and Boston Magazine’s publications. Janice describes her style as casual chic. You know, the kind of girl who likes to blend classic pieces with something unexpected — a lady-like dress with studded tights or thick rocker chains. Yup, that’s unexpected. Janice’s rack will include her favorite pieces from BCBG, Malo, and Ted Baker. And if we’re lucky, a rocker chain or two.

ESTI PARSONS, best-dressed list

She claims that she is generally overdressed for the rest of the world, but wow, has it paid off. Four – count ‘em – four best-dressed awards from the Boston Globe, this co-founder of Radius restaurant is clearly not just a world-class foodie but fashionista, albeit an unpredictable one. Sometimes it’s a skinny jean from Louis, other days it’s a poofy jacket from Matsu, but whatever Esti’s in the mood to wear, you know she’ll wear it well.

LISA PIERPONT, Boldfacers.com

The daughter of parents who were both women's fashion designers and manufacturers, Lisa grew up with racks of clothes swirling around her. A hanger on the dinner table? What of it. A skirt in the bathroom sink? Just another day. Common wisdom would dictate that she would have pursued a career in fashion, but instead, she earned a master’s in journalism, became a TV producer and founded a website – this website, actually, Boldfacers. Buttons and hemlines pulse through her blood anyway, and she has the closet to show for it. And you.

JILL RADSKEN, The Boston Herald

Jill Radsken is Fashion Editor for the Boston Herald. An award winning reporter, she’s been covering fashion, beauty and home design for more than a decade, and is considered one of the city's most respected fashion writers. Jill is on the nominating committee for the Council of Fashion Designers of America's Fashion Awards. She's also a regular contributor to "Matty in the Morning" on WXKS/KISS 108-FM, and Fashion Forward guest host on "StyleBoston." We’re expecting big things from you, Jill. Big things.

MARILYN RISEMAN, best-dressed list

She’s known as the kabuki socialite. With her stark white makeup, jet black Mary McFadden hair (before Mary, mind you) and one-of-a-kind couture coats, Marilyn is a Boston fashion icon. Style is ageless, she believes, and must be individual. She talks the talk because she’s walked the walk. She traveled all over Italy, France and England as a buyer for Charles Sumner and I. Miller, followed by a 17-year stint as the owner of six high-end boutiques, Apogee, across the States. Forever a fan of edgy designs, Marilyn says taking risks in fashion -- and life --  is a given. Go, Marilyn, go.

Marilyn will be donating proceeds to the American Cancer Society.

FRANCES RIVERA, WHDH-TV

Frances Rivera is an award winning co-anchor for 7News in Boston. You can see her on the 5, 6, and 11PM newscasts on WHDH, as well as the 10PM newscast on CW56. But she’s also known for her trail-blazing style, and has picked up multiple accolades as a fantastic dresser. She credits her grandmother for her genetic stylish eye, but also Lanvin, Christian Louboutin and Givenchy.

LYDIA SANTANGELO, best-dressed list

You can’t miss Lydia. You also can’t imagine her working in any field other than fashion. Perfectly rugged leather jackets (she nabs them in the boy’s departments), ethereal lacey camisoles and metallic wedge boots are what this fine woman will wear to pick up dry-cleaning. International departments stores rely on Lydia to produce top-notch fashion shows, while her individual clients depend on her to shape up their wardrobes. She’s the closet thing to Rachel Zoe this town has ever seen. Lydia's proceeds will go to the Stanley R. Tippett Hospice.

SHAYNA SEYMOUR,  WCVB-TV

What’s hot? Shayna Seymour is hot, that's what. So much so, that she produces a weekly segment called “What’s hot” for Newscenter 5 as well as reports for Chronicle. But before her foray into journalism, she seriously entertained the thought of a career as a buyer for the Gap. The Newsroom prevailed, but she never lost her knack for style. Conservative, but not frumpy, thank you…trendy but understated, Shayna will be offering a slew of Seven jeans, Vivian Tam tees and other tasteful treats.
