Prior to the opening of the Chihuly: Through the Looking Glass
exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, The Melanoma Foundation of New
England was joined by world-renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly and his
wife, Leslie for an exclusive fundraising event. Friends Gerald W.R.
Ward, the Katharine Lane Weems Senior Curator of American Decorative
Arts and Sculpture, MFA, Boston, and Jim Schantz, Owner & Director of
Schantz Galleries Contemporary Glass, Stockbridge, MA joined Chihuly
and guests at the Fairmont Battery Wharf for a VIP champagne
reception. The Melanoma Foundation of New England provides a variety
of educational programs targeting the prevention and early detection
of skin cancer and melanoma for both children and adults. The
Foundation also assists patients and their caregivers struggling with
melanoma by offering support and educational programs. These programs
are all free.
